Animation errors

This page includes all the animation errors (also known as "goofs") of Puppy in My Pocket: Adventures in Pocketville. If there isn't an error on this list that you have spotted anywhere in an episode, feel free to add it here!

Pilot[]

Multiple episodes[]

Several of these errors will be seen throughout the episode and will not be counted to avoid constant repetition in the individual episodes' sections, but more major and notable cases of these will be counted there, especially if seen with a more uncommon error.

Multiple crowd shots feature duplicates of characters, such as the trials in the episode Heads Up and the crowd overlooking the Pawball match in Believe in Yourself. Sometimes with the occasional recolors such as Mela having ginger markings rather than gray.
Often the luster textures of the Royal Collar and the Royal Guards’ collars are missing in certain scenes.
Sometimes the hearts or paw prints on the Guards’ collars are crooked or out of place, or the collars clip through their necks.
Ava's facial marking frequently swaps shapes, more notably in The Friendship Ceremony and part 2 of Patience, from only covering the eyes and snout like Magic’s to being more circular (the latter being her normal marking).
Sometimes when characters are raising their paws, rather than all of their paw pads, either only their metacarpal pad is seen or no paw pads.
Balloon sometimes appears with white over her eyes rather than just being between her eyes.
Danny's scleras disappear in some shots.
The orange marking on Mela’s face is sometimes flipped.
Sometimes the characters appear to be pixelated.
Mela and Balloon's markings often shift from being very detailed to just appearing as round or circular splotches. This may be a result of using differently designed models from different people or just a stylistic choice.
Whenever there is a view of Mela from behind, she lacks the gray marking on her back that she is supposed to have.
The Royal Collar is one funny case. Sometimes it has misaligned carvings or missing details, or appears larger than the circumference of the animal characters's necks, such as when Balloon picks it up.
Sometimes the outlines of the characters clip in some places, especially the ears.
The pocket tags of many characters may sometimes have an engraving on them that says “Pocketville”, which is part of the pilot design.
When the Royal Guards are seen cheering/singing, they have pocket tags when they are not supposed to.
There is especially a problem with animating Eva’s face. Sometimes her eyes would shift to a wonky position or her beauty mark would either swap sides or be a larger size than usual.
The Friendship Heart will occasionally appear as matte rather than glossy and shiny.
There is inconsistency with what the Communication Shells look like. In their first appearance, they appear to be brown cockle shells, while later on, they are either black or white cone-shaped shells.

The Friendship Ceremony[]

3:05 - While chasing after the Friendship Trail, Magic has Princess Ava's collar (albeit without the Friendship Heart) when he's not supposed to have any collar yet.
3:40 - Now this is one weird long shot of the throne room. Ava, Mela, William, and Balloon all appear to be blurry and warped compared to Danny appearing normal, Ava has her prototype tan markings, and William appears to be awkwardly standing on his seat.
3:57 - Not only does Ava have a completely different design on her collar but the collar clips with the shimmer effect. Her eyes are slightly wonky as well.
5:42 - Ava is oddly pixelated and the carvings on her collar are misaligned.
5:57 - Dot is cross-eyed.
7:11 - Ava has a missing left eyelash.
7:27 - Two-for-one here. Eva does not appear to have teeth while growling, and Ava's collar lacks golden luster (the latter will appear several times in the rest of the episode and the episodes to follow).
7:36 - This eventually becomes a three-for-one. Eva's beauty mark is layered underneath her facial marking, and on her left cheek tuft the outline is broken. Meanwhile Ava has a different facial marking, which will occasionally appear in some episodes to come.
8:22 - The outline close to Eva's snout is missing, and the outline of her paw is a lighter shade of gray than on her face and ears. Eva also has gray eyelids that are not attached to her face.
8:30 - The same mistakes from above return (except for the eyelids), and more chunks from both Eva and Gort's outlines are missing as well.
8:45 - Even more pixelated figures appear.
11:00 - Another three-for-one. Ava is missing her paw pads on her paw, that same odd facial marking comes back, and Danny is missing his scleras.
11:18 - Ava has odd brown lines above her eyes and the misaligned carvings and missing luster texture on her collar return.
11:41 - The outline at Ava's chin appears to be shifting.
11:48 - The furrows between Ava's eyes are an unusual greenish shade compared to the darker brown of the outlines where they meet her markings, and the eyes are visible below the eye line (indicating that Ava's face marking is transparent). And there goes that oddly-shaped face marking again.
11:49 - A blue streak is on Ava's tail.
11:49 - Very briefly there is Ava's marking colors from the pilot, which are tan rather than russet.
12:04 - Mela and Danny's legs clip through their heads. The orange marking on Mela’s face is also flipped.
12:06 - Balloon's eyelashes are lopsided.
12:09 - The spikes on Zull's collar are not colored in and the outline of his tail does not match up with the rest of his model.
12:28 - The gold frame holding the heart to the collar appears fully intact and attached to the collar, when half of it was supposed to be cleaved off by Zull. Oddly enough, the frame sometimes makes appearances when it isn't supposed to be there.
12:37 - Continuity error here. Kate appears with her Big City outfit when she was supposed to have a different outfit (orange shirt and khakis) in the next episode.

The Unexpected Guest[]

There is an odd speck on the bush that overlaps with Mela.
Balloon is missing her white markings. She also has a differently shaped head that is closer to Ava and Eva's.
William is missing in the group sitting where the collar was, which included himself, Danny, Balloon, and Mela.
The sun rays overlap with Magic.
The outlines of Magic's snout is on the wrong side.
The paw prints on Kate's shirt are often inconsistent with their shape, size, and placement.
Balloon appears with misaligned eyes when looking at William.
Kate has shorter hair.
When Mela turns around, the hearts on her collar lose their coloring.
After Balloon goes over to caress her paw on Ava's throne, she disappears in the next scene.
Balloon somehow reappears next to William when he says, "That's enough, Oristolfo!", and is then seen next to Mela in the next scene, and the next scene where she is seen, the luster texture of her hearts is missing. Now keep in mind this is before she comes back down the stairs.
Magic's metacarpal paw pads are not colored when he sits and raises both forepaws outwards.
The pictures in the kitchen switch from being of dogs to pictures of children. Now why would there be pictures of children if humans do not reside in Pocketville?
When the Royal Guards enter the kitchen, Balloon has odd dark gray patches on her fur, and the luster texture on the hearts of her collar is yet again missing.
Mela's collar clips with her neck, and there goes the missing luster from Balloon's collar.
An odd line is on Balloon's paw when she whispers to Mela, the iris of Mela's left eye clips with her head and the line quality is noticeably off with some chunks of the outline being missing from Mela.
Balloon has white over her eyes again while walking.
William's collar seems to be attached to his head while speaking with the other guards. In the next scene, the same applies to Balloon as she speaks, where the collar is attached to her chin.
The rope the beavers are pulling to get the waterwheel to budge appears pixelated compared to the wheel. The same applies to the beavers.
When Kate is about to go underwater, the shine of the Friendship Heart is missing.
When the guards walk back to the castle, Mela's eyes are noticeably wonky, and William's collar is noticeably missing more paw prints than usual.

Evershell the Wise[]

2:37 - The same dark gray spots return on Balloon's fur when she and the other guards enter the Princess Suite.
3:00 - Mela’s collar and tail are missing.
3:07 - The gray spot on Magic's back is cut by the neck and the base of his tail, where the color of his base fur can be seen.
3:09 - Magic’s irises clip through the outlines of his eyes.
4:52 - The shadow of Krakia's sclera overlaps with the iris in her eye.
5:35 - Mela has orange on her muzzle.
6:10 - Balloon is cross-eyed.
6:12 - As Danny flips in midair, his head briefly overlaps with his body, and the top of his head is translucent.
6:22 - Mela’s orange marking on her face is flipped.
7:09 - Danny's eye outline seems to overlap with the sclera.
8:08 - When Balloon skips from stone to stone, she is awfully pixelated, her paw pads are not colored in, and the hearts on her collar are missing.
8:11 - The line quality on Mela is noticeably rigid, and her right eye has an orange outline rather than gray.
8:17 - Magic's coloration overlaps with his outline, as well as some of Kate's.
9:08 - Mela's collar clips with her chin.
9:14 - Kate's freckles are missing.
9:19 - Danny is cross-eyed.
9:21 - Two errors in one scene. Mela does not have her dark gray marking over her back and the Friendship Heart does not have shine, though the latter may be because it's too small in that scene.
9:30 - Magic's head clips with his body.
9:53 - The coloring of Mela's collar clips through the outline and into her head. Balloon's collar clips through a tuft of hair below her neck.
10:26 - The cheetah's leg visibly overlaps with the spots on her body.

Going Home[]

Eva has rather uncanny wonky eyes.
Eva's eyes are a more saturated shade of blue and the face marking does not completely cover the chin.
The shadow under Eva's eyes is black instead of dark gray. The beauty mark on her cheek is also out of place.
Eva's leg is cut off (it's very barely noticeable though), showing the background, there is an orange chunk sticking out from the outline of Zull's right eye, and the furrow mark between Gort's eyes is blue.
The white marking between Mela's eyes is leaning towards her right eye rather than being in the middle.
The scaling of the Magic Drop is inconsistent. When Kate looks out the window and sees a Magic Drop near the Magic Fountain, with that scaling, the drops up close would be bigger than the palm of her hand.
Kate's fingers on her left hand clip off her hand.
Balloon has the case of the white eyelids yet again when she says "She's not just a pretty face", but this time it's only visible when she blinks as it's not above her eyelids.
Something's wrong with all four of the guards' collars. Danny's has luster when it isn't supposed to, William's has hearts instead of paw prints, and Mela and Balloon's collars have hearts that are not colored in…again. A chunk of Mela's body is also missing.
Zull has a missing outline on his right paw when he grabs the collar.
Balloon has missing paw pads on her left paw when she raises it, and the ginger marking on Mela's face is not completely over her eye and her right eye is wonky.
William's head becomes oversized and his collar clips out of his body. The line quality is visibly rigid as well.
The outline of Gort's paws while he is running blends in with the shadow. In the same scene, William's neck clips through his collar.
Part of Gort's tail is missing in the next scene.
William's teeth clip through his cheek. His mouth also appears slightly transparent.
Zull's hind leg has a black shadow instead of a dark gray one.
Krakia's left wing briefly appears flat as she is about to catch the collar.
William's chin clips through his collar.
Magic's outline is cut off below the chin and his facial marking does not have a gradient at the cheek.
Mela's eyes clip under the outline and into her head.

A Big Responsibility[]

Part 1[]

Magic's collar has incorrect shading and is missing a carving.
There are tan chunks on the dark gray stripe on Magic's back.
When Magic looks up at Peter, the line of his snout shrinks down rather than disappearing, and as Kate moves her arm, there are no engravings in his collar.
Balloon and William's collars have no hearts nor paw prints on them.
The outline of Krakia's collar is gray.
Eva holds the Friendship Heart in one scene, but in the next she already has it back around her neck. Even more, her eyes somehow grow unusually large. Then right after, she is seen with the string off again.
Kate has darker blue eyes.

Part 2[]

Once again does Balloon appear with those strange dark gray splotches on her side when she enters the suite.
The Royal Guards have plain collars and Mela does not have the gray marking on her back.
This was when the design of the Pocketpedia changes from a brown cover with an image of the Pocketville Castle and titled "PocKetville" to a green and yellow cover with red hearts. When Kate and Magic meet the Guards, the original design of the Pocketpedia is on the floor behind them, but afterwards, the new design of the book appears on the shelf and activates.
Part of Danny's eye outline is brown.
The Friendship Heart overlaps Kate's hand.
A chunk of the outline on Mela's leg is fuchsia.
The gradient on Magic's lower cheek disappears when he looks at Kate.
There is incorrect scaling in the background composition with the sheep on the hill.
The image of Toby on Eva’s half of the Friendship Heart is blurry, and when Eva picks the jewel up, the image overlaps with her paw. Her claws are also not colored in.
A spike on Gort's collar overlaps with his face.
Eva's eyes are misaligned, the facial marking does not completely cover the bottom of the face, partially showing that the lower jaw is a separate object (hence the lack of gradient at the chin) rather than blending with the face, a beige spot is on Eva's left paw, and the outline on her left ear is missing. The mouth also seems to be pinkish.
As Kate and Magic walk through the forest, Magic is wearing the collar, which is missing the Friendship Heart, and in the next seen, Kate has it around her wrist with the jewel.
Magic's snout is translucent when he looks up at Kate.
Danny's collar overlaps with his face.
Balloon's collar clips with her body.
The brown outlines on Danny's eyes come back, along with his eyes overlapping his snout and appearing transparent under the snout.
Several scenes in the forest do the trees appear slightly translucent, as if the outlines of leaves were plastered unevenly on the coloration. However, that could just be a stylistic choice.
Part of Krakia's model is cut briefly when she appears from the left-hand side to see what Eva and her lackeys are up to.
Most of Eva's outline is black, which was like this in the pilot.
The Friendship Heart appears smaller compared to Eva.
Toby's cheek marks are inconsistent with their colors, sometimes it’s light gray, sometimes it’s a darker tone.
Part of William's collar overlaps with his face.
Eva briefly appears with a purple collar, which has no spikes.

Crest of a Wave[]

2:09 - Magic's collar overlaps with his neck. His paws are flat, lacking paw pads.
2:13 - The left strap of Annabelle's top is white. Magic has a transparent patch on his back.
2:25 - The ball seems like it was glued on Magic's mouth rather than him holding it with his mouth. Flat paw syndrome returns as well.
2:56 - Magic's collar is wonky yet again, both in lineart and shading.
4:00 - Eva's paw is cream instead of gray.
4:35 - Mela's missing gray patch over her back and the guard's collars missing details return.
5:23 - When the Pocketpedia turns to the page with Swimmy on it, the image of him does not appear until the page fully turns.
5:32 - Eva's left pupil clips through the outline.
5:38 - Eva's purple spiked collar returns with upside-down spikes, and her outline colors are mismatched.
5:48 - Eva is missing the gray markings on her paws again.
6:06 - When Eva looks to her left, her head is still facing the opposite way.
When Kate is on the shore with the guards, she is wearing her fuchsia dress. But by the time she is in the water, her outfit changes into the pink shirt with khaki pants outfit.
8:00 - William's collar floats.
8:09 - The Royal Collar clips through the Friendship Heart.
8:18 - The front of Swimmy's collar is red.
8:31 - Is Danny's eyes missing or are they closed?
9:15 - A transition effect was not needed here.
11:02 - William is missing paw pads on his paw and Danny has no collar.
11:12 - Not only is William's collar transparent in one part but it also has uncolored hearts instead of paw prints.
11:47 - The yellow paw print on Kate's dress slowly slides to the left.
11:50 - The blanket clips over and falls over a second time.

Frisbee[]

Once again, Magic’s collar looks rigid.
Magic’s head visibly clips beneath his body again, as indicated by the cut back marking.
The gray marking between Magic’s tail and back is disconnected.
Magic’s back marking becomes smaller.
There are no pillows before Kate and Magic teleport, but they appear in the scene where they finally do.
Kate’s eyes appear too far apart.
Balloon’s collar is missing luster, and has a different colored outline than Mela’s collar does.
William’s collar is cut off on the left side.
When Gort smacks Krakia with his paw, Krakia’s head appears flattened.
When Zull points at Gort, his facial markings are outlined.
Eva’s eyes are the wrong shade of blue.
Magic’s facial marking is misaligned with his eyes.
The Royal Collar clips with Kate’s wrist.
Part of the outline of Otto’s collar is missing.
The image of Otto on Eva’s half of the jewel clips with the string on occasion.
Magic’s facial marking is solid and lacking a blur.
The shading of Eva’s head clips with her left ear. Her claws are not colored in either.
Danny's missing the gray on his muzzle.
When Hugo first appears, he has a barrel around his neck. However, in the next scene that he appears in, he has a collar identical to Otto’s.
When Otto grabs the phone from the hand of Liam’s dad, it disappears, making it seem like he ate it instead.

Don't Be Afraid[]

One of the heart decals on Magic’s collar briefly stretches.
Magic’s tail is too far left.
When Magic is running after Kate, his collar lacks details.
A yellow object, assumed to be part of Kate’s hair, clips through her shirt. Her fingers also clip with the bookshelf.
Eva’s paw is cream. Again.
When Eva turns around, her outline is not completely aligned.
When Eva looks at Zull and Gort while talking to Camo, her facial marking does not cover her cheeks. Also, the background is cut off at the bottom.
A black line is between Eva's eyes on the bridge of her snout.
Danny is missing his collar.
The gradient on Ava's front paws is cut off.
When Ava jumps, her mouth stretches way too much.

Food for Thought[]

The glasses of Molly’s mother slowly shift upwards.
Strange green bars are on the spaghetti. At the same time, Magic’s collar is misaligned.
When Eva pounces on Krakia, there are white lines on her hind paws.
The thumb on Eva’s paw is transparent.
When Eva holds the Friendship Heart, the string is around her neck. In the next scene, the string is off her neck.
Balloon’s head is disproportionately large compared to her body.
When Kate raises her hand, the Royal Collar is missing engravings on the left.
In Baldo’s closeup, he is shown to have eyebrows, but in following scenes that he appear in, they disappear.
Balloon’s mouth is missing.
When Eva jumps through the kitchen window, her hind paw is solid rather than gradient. Not only this, but her facial marking is misaligned with her eyes, and somehow her claws don’t have consistent coloring (in this scene it’s white while in others it’s gray).
In Eva’s closeup, her eyes become wonky.
While Kate and her friends are seated, a chunk of Mela’s head is missing.

New Friends[]

Part 1[]

5:56 — When Kate and Magic teleport to Pocketville and land on a pile of pillows courtesy of Danny, Kate is wearing the Royal Collar when she’s not supposed to. In the next scene, Magic is seen wearing it, as he should.
8:01 — The orange streak on Mela’s face is flipped, and Balloon’s white marking is over her eyes again.
8:45 — For a brief second, a line is seen on Magic’s flank.
9:36 — Mela is missing her collar, and Balloon and Danny’s collars are plain.
10:48 — Danny’s nose is not colored in.

Part 2[]

When Robbie is being pursued by Krakia, his eyes are light blue instead of yellow.
When Robbie is teleported to the classroom window, he is missing his collar.
Mark’s torso is slightly blurred and double-imaged.
The Royal Guards’ collars are yet again plain.

Patience[]

Part 1[]

1:51 - Ava’s face marking. Again. The gradient on her paws are mismatched too.
5:16 - Kate is wearing a headband when she’s not supposed to.
6:54 - Kate appears wearing her school uniform when she's not supposed to. In the next scene she appears in, she's back to wearing her regular Pocketville outfit.
9:56 - When Kiki is atop the Magic Fountain, she takes on Toby’s appearance.
11:32 - William’s eyelids are brown.

Part 2[]

When Gort blinks as he looks at Zull, the shading of his eyes shift.
Magic’s collar lacks engravings on the sides.
In the faraway shot of Kate and her friends walking towards the entrance of the castle, Balloon is missing white markings on her paws.
In several scenes does Ava look off-model with a differently-shaped face marking. In another, not only does she have that, but her eyes are crossed.
When Ava and Wallace go inside the warehouse, Ava is missing the brown markings on her legs.

Believe in Yourself![]

Part 1[]

3:33 - Mela’s right eye briefly shifts.
7:36 - Once again does Mela appear with a flipped orange streak on her face and Balloon with the white eyelids.
7:38 - In that same scene, much of the paw prints on William’s collar are missing.
8:21 - William’s collar is still missing some decals.
11:52 - Only Eva’s right eye moves, making her appear crosseyed.

Part 2[]

In the closeup of Eva, her ears are wonky.
The gray markings on Eva’s legs are missing.
Frankie has a wrinkled nose, when he’s not supposed to given that he’s a dachshund.
Eva’s necklace is missing.
The orange marking on Mela’s face is flipped. Again.
There is just so much wrong with this scene. Ava’s lashes are missing, her leg markings are missing their fade, and both her head and tail are disconnected from her body. And when she lifts her hind paw up, the brown fur only covers her leg, leaving her paw beige as if she were a snowshoe cat.
Part of the fade of Ava’s face marking is cut off.
Eva’s purple spiked collar returns.
The fade on Eva’s legs is missing, and for a brief second, her front right leg clips.
Kate’s hair clips.
When Valerie is about to pass the ball, she has no lips.

Heads Up[]

Part 1[]

5:58 - The rabbit is missing her collar.

Part 2[]

In several scenes do Zull and Gort’s collars lack spikes.
When Zull and Gort bump into the wall, Gort is missing his collar, while Zull’s collar is gray instead of blue.
And when Zull and Gort fall, Zull’s collar is taupe like Gort’s.
When Pia and Dot scale the wall, Zull is missing his collar.
When the terrier prepares to jump the wall, it has the same pink collar as Pia, but in the next scene, it has a brown and teal collar instead.
Wallace is seen in Pocketville in some scenes even though he’s not supposed to be there.
Kate is seen wearing a headband when she’s not supposed to.
Several goofs in one in this scene: not only is Pia reverted to resembling her early design: having blue eyes, lacking a black spot on her back, and somehow having brown spots, but Mela’s left eyelash is orange, William and Balloon’s collars are plain (with Balloon’s collar clipping off her neck), and Danny’s gray muzzle is more faded.
Kate’s pupils are dark blue.
Right before Kate places the Magic Drop in the fountain, the fountain already appears to be full of water.

The Search[]

Part 1[]

2:15 - Mela’s collar is wonky to her right.
2:31 - Mela’s left leg briefly overlaps with her collar.
3:01 - William’s collar overlaps with his chin.
3:04 - Eva’s ears are too small, and she has strange white lines under her eyes.
3:08 - Eva looks very off-model here. Her face marking does not cover her cheeks, and part of her right ear is cream.
3:11 - Eva’s eye iris clips through the outline of her eye.
4:14 - In Kate’s walk cycle, her shorts clip at the left hip.
4:27 - Magic’s head overlaps with his collar.
5:15 - The Friendship Heart is missing its white highlights. At the same time, Magic’s face marking is missing the fade on the bridge of his snout.
5:47 - Not only are Ava’s eyes misaligned but her face marking is missing its fade around the bottom of her face to her left cheek.
5:55 - The fade of Ava’s face marking is too low, making her eyelids visible instead of blending with the marking. Not only this, but her head is a tad too large.
6:09 - Ava’s eye looks realistic and kind of off-model, and is missing its shading.
7:09 - The Pet Buster has sharp teeth.
8:14 - Eva’s eyes are misaligned.
When the snow leopard appears in this episode, he has no collar, but in Part 2, he wears a pink collar.
9:06 - Kate is missing a paw print decal on her right shoulder, and her shorts are missing pockets.
12:12 - Though Ava’s face marking being off-model happens consistently throughout the episode, this one is pointed out not only because the scene has it but the fade of her tail is cut off too low.

Part 2[]

Magic’s snout overlaps with his left eye.
Eva’s left eye is misaligned.
Eva’s Friendship Heart lacks white highlights.
In the first scene of which the Never Alone Flower appears in, it has a more simplistic appearance.
When Kate shrugs, the paw print decal on her left shoulder overlaps with her collar.
Gort has a blue collar in two scenes.
There are lines on Eva’s left eye and left cheek.
The furrow on Eva’s face becomes wonky.
There is a gray line on Wallace’s mouth.

The Bargain[]

Part 1[]

8:43 - Eva’s eyelids are black.
10:55 - Krakia’s collar tag is shifted to her right.

Part 2[]

Balloon slides to the right and she and Mela switch spots.
There is a diagonal line on Balloon’s chest.
In one scene, the Royal Guards stand next to each other (from left to right: Mela, Balloon, William, and Danny). They all switch spots in the next scene, where they all stand across from each other, with Mela next to William and Danny next to Balloon. At the same time, Magic’s gray spot on his back is cut off.
Eva’s beauty mark is on the opposite side.
The paw print pattern on William’s collar have three toes on each rather than four.
Danny’s front right leg overlaps his collar.
Balloon’s white markings on her paws are missing.
The spikes on Gort’s collar are missing.
The color of Stephan’s eyes is rather inconsistent. In one scene, his eyes are light blue, but in another, his eyes are a slightly darker and duller shade of blue.
Danny’s right eye overlaps.
Kate’s headband is missing.
Gort’s spikes are blue.

Part 1[]

2:46 - The brown marking on Ava’s caught leg shifts.
2:49 - Ava’s face marking shifts upwards.
2:56 - Ava’s paw is white.
3:07 - Wallace’s collar and its tag do not have a dark outline.
3:28 - Kate and the rest of the audience appear pixelated.
4:24 - The outline of Kate’s shirt overlaps with her neck.
