The Friendship Heart is a red jewel in the shape of a heart that is used to send pets from Pocketville to the Big City or elsewhere via the Magic Fountain. It is mounted on the Royal Collar. It was originally in the possession of Princess Ava, but has shattered into two halves. The halves were then each in possession of Eva and Kate. The jewel is said to glow whenever Ava is near, indicating that it can know where its owner is. Ava has also said that she has made an oath to the jewel's power.
Eva tried to get the other half from Kate numerous times so she would become the queen of the Pocket Kingdom instead of her sister, but eventually the heart sealed back into one jewel and was given to Kate, as Ava proclaims that she no longer needs the jewel now that she had the Ocean of Friendship. Its powers include allowing people like Kate to understand Magic and the other pets of Pocketville and to allow Kate and Magic to travel from the Big City to Pocketville and vice versa.

Many argue over where the Friendship Heart originally came from. Some think it could have been made by some ancient magical race of fairies long, long ago. But then there are those who believe that such a special, magical item could have ONLY been created from the dreams of a young kitten - a chosen one who is of royal blood and pure of heart. The origins of the Friendship Heart are not truly known and are spotty and ambiguous. However, Claudia says in her lesson that in some legends, the jewel was once part of a star which fell from the sky.
In the original English dub, Clelia mentions that it was specifically Franklin D. Puppy who came up with this theory.
